32 versus 64 bit installation

Windows operating systems come in two flavours 32 and 64 bit. You need to choose the installer appropriate to your system.

If you aren't sure which you have, Microsoft has a help page explaining how to work it out.

But if that all sounds a bit complicated, don't worry, just try them both. If you use the wrong installer the installation will simply fail to complete and you'll need to use the other instead.
