Why should I register?

All users of WordWall can access help and share resources without registering. However choosing to register does give three key benefits:

• browsing history and recent uploads on your home page

• ability to participate in the forum and belong to user groups

• protection of your uploads in a 'My WordWalls' section

My WordWalls

The My WordWalls concept does deserve some explanation. When an unregistered user shares a file into goes into the main pool of resources and anyone can edit that resource.

The My WordWalls thumbnails show the most recent activities you have shared.

If you are registered, your resources are kept in your own protected directory, so that only you can edit those resources. If someone does try to edit a resource you made, a second copy will be created and will be listed underneath on the screen just before you download.

How to make WordWall remember your settings

Typing in user IDs and passwords can be a pain. In WordWall itself, go to the Options menu and select User Settings. On this screen you can register or log-in. The advantage of this using this route to log-in is that WordWall will remember your details next time you run the program.

Why do I have to give my email address?

First and foremost, we require an email address as its the easiest way to give an unique identification. There's nothing more annoying than having to remember that your ID is JohnSmith134953 and still worse having a different ID for every site you are a member of.

We also believe that most of our users will want to know when upgrades are available or other important notices to do with WordWall, but we respect the fact that that some of you just want to keep the number of emails you receive to minimum. So we promise to only send out very occassional emails when we have genuine news for you and will of course fully respect any request to opt out.
